My passion for sewing was inspired by my father who was an upholsterer. He also made dresses for my mother, my sisters and me.

At thirteen I started to sew at school in home economics, I found I had an aptitude for sewing and realised that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

I worked for 15 years in the fashion industry as a dressmaker making garments for designers Sybil Zelker of the Poly Peck label and John Bates of the Jean Veron label. In the 60’s and 70’s I made outfits for Harrods, Selfridges and Marks & Spencer’s until I had my family.

Since then I have privately made garments for my daughters and family, also creating bespoke wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses and christening robes as well as soft furnishings.

Lately with the resurgence of the Sewing Bee I have been asked to teach and help friends and family to sew, this has encouraged me to want to share my knowledge and start my own Sewing Studio.
